The director of the Glade Festival has explained why the location and line-up of the event are currently being kept secret.
Last year we reported on the cancellation of Glade Festival. Said to be due to rising costs (read our opinion), the electronic music event returns in 2011 from June 10 - 12 at a new venue 1 & 1/2 hours from London.
In a post on Facebook, Anselm 'Ans' Guise responded to criticism about the lack of information about the festival and suggested that organisers may have licensed several venues in case one falls through.
"The Glade, as we all, I think, know... is a very special festival," he said. "I, for one, believe that the world is a little better off with the Glade. Maybe that's insane but there it is. But in order to allow the Glade Phoenix to rise... We've had to be a little clever.
"Either way... We can't tell you where it is. Yet. So if you need to know then don't buy a ticket. But may I remind you the spirit of what we do was born in a culture where not knowing where the party was was part of the fun... It's also what we did when we first started the Glade and no-one complained then."
He added: "And the lineup... It is coming. We want to lay it down in style and there's a few deals that aren't quite complete... We will be announcing the first wave of artists next week. At the 2007 Glade somebody wrote along a wall, 'Get Stuck in or F**K off '. Too right. Love to you all."
